Memphis, TN – A Memphis-area man, Kyl Alton Hall, 37, faces serious charges after making threats against President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama. Hall, who has a history of legal troubles, posted threats on X (formerly Twitter) in late July, vowing to “kill, assassinate, shoot, and crash the plane” of these leaders.
Federal authorities indicted Hall on August 20, charging him with two counts of threats against a sitting president and vice president, and one count against a former president. Each charge carries a potential five-year prison sentence.
The U.S. Secret Service led the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Will Crow will prosecute the case. Hall, previously a registered Republican in Florida, moved to DeSoto County, Mississippi, in 2020.
