Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Sunday that his endorsement of Donald Trump is not driven by revenge against the Democrats. He plans to actively campaign for the former president.
“I’m going to be campaigning actively,” Kennedy stated during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.” He mentioned that Trump will soon announce other Democrats joining his campaign, emphasizing their shared goal of making America healthy again.
Kennedy, who claims Democrats blocked his nomination bid, will withdraw from the ballot in 10 swing states but remain on about 30 state ballots where his candidacy won’t impact the outcome. “In the states where I would have been a spoiler, I’m going to get out,” he said.
Despite some disagreements with Trump, Kennedy revealed they had extensive discussions after his assassination attempt. Trump invited him to form a unity government, agreeing to continue criticizing each other on differing issues. They aim to end the war in Ukraine and censorship, focusing on unifying the country.
Kennedy clarified there were no talks of Cabinet positions in exchange for his endorsement. He also addressed his family’s disapproval, stating they are free to hold their positions. His sister, Kerry Kennedy, expressed outrage, saying their father would have detested Trump.
Kennedy concluded, “I don’t act out of anger or revenge. It’s a bad motivation, like swallowing poison hoping someone else will die. I am very pragmatic and practical.”
